Motobecane Serial Number Decoder

You can find information on the web in some cases, especially for collectible bikes, old Treks and Raleighs, for instance. I didn't find anything on Giants in a very quick search, but someone somewhere may have dug up or decoded the information. In some cases, you can get year of manufacture, frame size, and/or various other info from the serial number. More often than not they'll be helpful telling you what the code means, ifit means anything at all. I've bought a couple of used bikes and my recumbent manufacturing company was quick to let me know the model year based on thier serial coding. Do write down your registration # and if you can keep a copy of your original receipt. That helped me with an insurance claim when my bike was stolen.
