Rapala Pro Fishing is far, far ahead of Bass Pro (at least in its trial version). The near photo quality of underwater scenes is something to behold, and topside for us air breathers is great as well. Just wait until you see the big fish swimming up out of the weeds to hit your bait.

FYI, I loaded it briefly on my wife's 800 MHz Dell that has an ATI 9700 card and it worked OK at 640 X 480 BPI with shading set to 16-bit, but a bit jerky due to the slow speed and only 256 MB of RAM. If you like to fish, get this one! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

From what I can tell the people who had problems with this were probably using NT or Vista and/or not reading info with game. I've used it on 3 different computers and works perfect on all 3 even my old out dated sluggish beat up IBM R40 laptop. I think the best thing overall about game is that it is playable and enjoyable by both adults (over 40) and kids (at least my 16,14, & 10 year olds like it). That is really saying something too because my 2 youngest hate going fishing but they like playing this game. Hmmmmm, maybe if they play it enough I can convince them to go fishing in the real water? 1- The software doesn't work properly, and there are no instructions provided in the booklet.

2- The tutorial doesn't work properly either; I found myself driving the boat in circles without being able to accelerate or get into deeper water, and casting the rod is also impossible. There are no instructions on locating and using the fishfinder/sonar device, choosing bait, etc.

3- WORST of all, I followed the help advice and emailed the software manufacturer for assistance, but nobody responded! The combination of a non-working game with a non-responsive help department would hasten my suggestion that you AVOID this game!
